Role Overview

The Product Marketing Lead – Bazel Support & Platform will own how Aspect communicates the value of its Bazel platform, enterprise support services, and developer-focused features. This role sits at the intersection of Product, Marketing, Support, and Engineering.

Your mission:

  • Understand customer pain points across build systems, developer experience, and Bazel adoption.
  • Build positioning, messaging, and go-to-market narratives grounded in those realities.
  • Create technical marketing content that developers trust.
  • Shape how Aspect tells its story externally—including feature launches, support offerings, enterprise services, and platform capabilities.

This role is perfect for someone who blends technical curiosity, developer empathy, storytelling ability, and platform tooling awareness.

Responsibilities

Product Marketing & Positioning

  • Develop positioning and messaging for Aspect’s Bazel platform, enterprise support tiers, remote build execution, caching, and migration tooling.
  • Translate complex technical concepts (Bazel rules, monorepos, builds, CI/CD, hermeticity) into clear, credible value propositions.
  • Create differentiated competitive messaging against build systems (e.g., Pants, Buck, Nx), internal tooling, and in-house Bazel builds.
  • Work with the Head of Marketing to define product narratives, ideal customer profiles, and GTM strategy.

Content Development & Technical Storytelling

  • Write high-quality technical marketing content including:
    • Feature briefs
    • Product one-pagers
    • Technical blogs and case studies
    • Email nurture sequences
    • Developer-focused explainers and deep dives
  • Collaborate with engineering and support teams to create content grounded in real customer use cases.

Support-Driven Insights & Market Intelligence

  • Partner with the Support team to identify common Bazel adoption obstacles, troubleshooting patterns, and developer friction points.
  • Turn support learnings into messaging, documentation, and product improvements.
  • Analyze competitor offerings, pricing, support tiers, and platform capabilities; influence product and marketing strategy accordingly.

Launches & Go-To-Market Execution

  • Lead GTM for new platforms, enterprise features, support programs, or Bazel tooling enhancements.
  • Produce launch materials (blog posts, landing pages, product videos, battlecards).
  • Build enablement materials for Sales, SDRs, and Solutions Engineering—including pitch decks, technical value stories, and positioning guides.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Support, DevRel, and Sales to ensure cohesive messaging across the customer lifecycle.
  • Represent the “voice of the developer” in roadmap discussions and feature prioritization.

Participate in customer calls and postmortems to stay closely aligned to user needs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 3–6+ years in product marketing, developer marketing, technical writing, customer success engineering, or similar hybrid technical-marketing role.
  • Working knowledge of modern software development workflows (CI/CD, build systems, monorepos, developer experience tooling).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent writing skills—capable of producing polished, concise, developer-trustworthy content.
  • Experience partnering closely with engineering and support teams.
  • Strong understanding of the software buyer journey and developer-led evaluation cycles.
  • Highly organized and capable of owning projects end-to-end with minimal oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Bazel, Pants, Buck, Blaze, Nx, or other build systems.
  • Background in developer platforms, build engineering, DevOps, or SRE.
  • Experience marketing technical tools to developers, engineering managers, or platform teams.
  • Ability to create technical diagrams, architecture visuals, or visual storytelling assets.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure and distributed build systems.

Why Aspect Build

  • Work with industry leaders who helped develop Bazel and modern build systems at Google.
  • Shape the future of developer productivity and reproducible builds for enterprise-scale software.
  • A remote-first, engineering-led culture with strong open-source roots.
  • Competitive compensation, meaningful equity, and flexible work arrangements.
