Role Overview

We’re seeking a Bazel Instructor to design, develop, and deliver world-class training programs for Aspect Build’s customers and community.

In this role, you’ll create technical course materials, hands-on labs, and certification-ready learning paths that help developers and build engineers master Bazel and related tooling. You’ll teach live and virtual workshops, record instructional content, and collaborate with Aspect’s engineering, product, and Developer Evangelism teams to keep training aligned with the latest technology and best practices.

This is an ideal position for an engineer or educator passionate about developer enablement, build systems, and teaching complex technology in a practical, engaging way.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive Bazel training courses for different audiences: developers, build engineers, and platform teams.
  • Create structured curricula, including slide decks, demos, exercises, labs, and assessments.
  • Deliver live and virtual Bazel training sessions for Aspect Build customers and open enrollment audiences.
  • Collaborate with Professional Services and Customer Success to tailor training to enterprise environments and migration projects.
  • Partner with Engineering and Developer Evangelism to ensure training materials reflect current best practices and new features in Bazel and Aspect Workflows.
  • Produce high-quality written and recorded content (guides, videos, tutorials) for ongoing education.
  • Track learner feedback and outcomes to continuously improve course effectiveness and engagement.
  • Contribute to the creation of Aspect Build certification programs for Bazel proficiency.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience working with Bazel in a professional or educational context.
  • Strong understanding of build systems, dependency management, and multi-language development workflows.
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills, with experience presenting to technical audiences.
  • Ability to create structured, hands-on learning materials and technical documentation.
  • Comfortable teaching both in-person workshops and virtual training sessions.

Preferred:

  • Experience writing Starlark rules or customizing Bazel for large-scale environments.
  • Background in developer education, technical training, or developer advocacy.
  • Familiarity with Aspect Workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Contributions to open-source developer tooling or build systems.
  • Familiarity with modern e-learning tools or LMS platforms.

Why Aspect Build

  • Help engineers around the world master the most advanced build system ever created.
  • Collaborate with the core team shaping the future of Bazel and developer infrastructure.
  • Remote-first, engineering-driven culture with strong open-source roots.
  • Competitive compensation, meaningful equity, and comprehensive benefits.
